More of BlackBerry’s 2011 lineup “leaked”

We've got two more sets of details on upcoming BlackBerry devices.
Yesterday we reported that specs on two new upcoming BlackBerry smartphones had leaked – and today we’ve got two more. BoyGeniusReport reports that RIM will be adding to its lineup with the latest generations of the BlackBerry Torch and the Storm.
BlackBerry-Torch-2The Torch was the first BlackBerry smartphone to be released with a full Qwerty keyboard as well as a touchscreen, and it looks like it will now have the goods to back that up. RIM is giving the device a huge boost in power (it’s jumping from a 600 MHz to a 1.2 GHz processor) among other hardware alternations. As far as packaging goes, it’s nearly identical to the original Torch. Here’s a look at the Torch 2’s details:
  • Tri-band HSPA 14.1 Mbps
  • 3.2-inch VGA; 640×480 display
  • 8 GB memory
  • 512 MB RAM
  • Bluetooth 2.1; GPS
  • 5 megapixel camera with flash
  • BlackBerry OS 6.1
  • 14.6 mm thin
Storm 3Not to be outdone is the BlackBerry Storm 3. It’s projected to have the highest resolution display of any BlackBerry smartphone yet as well as an optical trackpad, possibly to help with touch abilities (the older generation Storm devices have had notoriously finicky touchscreens). BGR mentions that RIM could very well switch up the branding for this phone – at the moment, codenames for the device include “Monaco” and “Monza.” Here’s what we know about the phone so far:
  • 1.2 GHz processor
  • 3.7-inch 800×480 display
  • Tri-band UMTS/HSPA
  • 5 megapixel camera with 720p recording
  • 8 GB storage for apps/data; 512 MB RAM
  • MicroSD slot
  • Bluetooth 2.1; 3G mobile hotspot and Wi-Fi
  • BlackBerry OS 6.1
BGR claims three different versions will debut internationally in September and the Torch 2 is set for a late Q3 release through AT&T.
