VLC player pulled from the App Store

We can't say this one wasn't coming, after VideoLAN bashed Apple for its murky DRM requirements, which contradict the GNU General Public Licenses (GPL), around which VLC is built. It certainly looks like Apple doesn't want to touch anything resembling GPL practices with a ten-foot pole, and won't let it on any of its platforms either.

Oh, well, goodbye, VLC, it was fun while it lasted. On the other hand, we should have an Android version of the popular "It plays everything!" software pretty soon, although that's of little consolation for iPhone and iPad owners. Back to the video converting software or some other "universal" player that has the codecs built-in.
